Spiderman started out from a modular basemesh.
Preliminary physique sculpting.
Breaking up the costume.
Final Sculpt front. I considered sculpting the webbing on the costume with curve brushes or by duplicating, shrinking and sculpting them on through the skin, but painting them on seemed much easier.
Final Sculpt back
Retopology in maya.
Material painting in substance painter.
Miles also started out in parts.
Miles wears a coat so I never made his arms haha, and I recycled the hands from Spiderman.

I built this sphere scene to place the characters in out of very simple boxes and spheres, using graphics I made in about an hour tracing over existing comic book covers.
I used Mixamo to quickly rig the characters to a simple skeleton to throw back into Maya for posing.
Posing the simple Mixamo skeleton.
After posing, the characters need some cleanup and facial sculpting so it's back to Zbrush.
